What is “GLAM”?
GLAM stands for “Girls Loving Arts & Mathematics”.
GLAM is an organization designed to set the bar higher for our girls and build the confidence they will need to pursue their dreams and persevere when challenges arise.
The goals every time we meet for a GLAM lesson are:
1. To expose girls to various types of engineering
2. To have an inspirational moment & learn about other women in the fields of math, science, and art
3. To see how engineering creates a connection to their community
4. To problem solve
5. To reflect on our own dreams and goals
6. And to complete a fun engineering activity
Meet the Face
Behind GLAM
Hi, my name is Jenn Hartman. After working in the engineering workforce for over 10 years now, I was inspired to start GLAM Girls Loving Arts & Mathematics to expose young girls to the fields of engineering. Since then, we’ve become a California Nonprofit Corporation and currently offering after-school programs to elementary school girls to discover the many opportunities within math, science, and art through hands-on activities and thought-provoking discussions.
As a mom of 3, I am even more inspired to lift up our next generation, expose them to the importance of hard work, encourage them to chase their dreams, and give them the confidence they need to overcome obstacles along the way.

“Only 13% of the engineering workforce is women. Let’s do something about that!”
